Analytics Engineer

Overview As a Data Engineer at Abbott, you will build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable reliable data flow across systems. You’ll work within a collaborative engineering team to support data collection, cleaning, and integration for analytics and modeling. You’ll implement data quality, security, and governance measures while documenting processes for knowledge sharing. This role offers exposure to big data concepts and cross-functional projects in healthcare technology, with opportunities to grow under mentorship and contribute to impactful data infrastructure. ResponsibilitiesAssist in deploying and monitoring data pipelines and workflows under guidance from senior engineersSupport data quality initiatives and integration through testing and validationBuild basic analytic data sets for exploration and modelingAssist in implementing data security measures, compliance, standards, and policiesDocument data processes, procedures, and workflows for knowledge sharingAssist with data pipeline development, data cleaning and preprocessingCollaborate with Sr Engineers to translate business needs into analytical requirementsAssist in scoping, planning and delivery of projectsHelp in data collection and cleansing, and maintaining infrastructure processes that automate data collection and cleansingUnderstand fundamentals of big data storage and distribution systems and related toolsStay aware of trends and best practices Key requirementsMinimum 1 year of work experience or equivalentFamiliarity with data and statistical programming languages (SQL, SAS, R, Python)Basic programming skillsExperience with relational databases and data collection from flat filesKnowledge of data mining, informatics, databases and data structuresPrior experience/education in life sciences or healthcare preferredBasic experience with at least one data tool (SAS, R or Python, SQL)Collaborative mindsetAdaptability to changing prioritiesClear documentation and knowledge sharingSQLPythonSAS
