Financial Controller Location: South Metro Minneapolis | Hybrid (2 days onsite / can be more if desired) Why This Opportunity A growing, well-established professional services organization is seeking a Financial Controller to step into a key leadership role following a planned executive transition. This position reports directly to the CFO and will lead a well-built accounting function supporting a multi-entity operating structure. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Controller who values accuracy, strong controls, and people leadership - and who enjoys partnering with executive leadership to deliver meaningful financial insight. Role Summary The Financial Controller will oversee all core accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls for the organization. This role ensures the integrity and timeliness of financial information while supporting business decisions through clear analysis, scalable processes, and strong team leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR/collections, payroll, and month-end closeDeliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reportsOversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable regulationsManage cash flow, balance sheet accuracy, and key reconciliationsMaintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with GAAPSupport budgeting and forecasting efforts with variance analysis and trend insightsPartner closely with the CFO to provide KPIs, reporting, and financial insight to leadershipCoordinate external audits, tax filings, and relationships with outside advisorsLead system enhancements, automation initiatives, and ERP optimizationDevelop, mentor, and manage a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability and engagement What They're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree strongly preferredCPA designation highly preferred15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller-level roleProven experience in a multi-entity environment, including consolidations and intercompany accountingHands-on experience overseeing payroll and financial reporting functionsBackground in service-based or technology-driven organizations preferredStrong ERP experience required; modern cloud-based systems experience highly valuedCollaborative, detail-oriented leader with strong communication and analytical skills Why It's Attractive Direct partnership with an experienced CFOLeadership role over a stable, tenured accounting teamHigh-impact position with visibility across the organizationOpportunity to influence systems, processes, and financial rigorCompetitive compensation with meaningful bonus opportunity Compensation: Target base salary $170,000 to $190,000 with a 20% target bonus #CFO #FinancialController #AccountingLeadership #Financialleadership #CPAJobs #Finance #ERPImplementation #MinnesotaJobs #LI-HYBRID #LI-PS1 #INFEB2026 #CFO #Controller
