Eligibility may vary by position, average hours worked, length of service, and/or location.Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:Assist in interviewing residents/guardians and obtaining required information and signatures.Assist in the orientation program for residents/personnel in accordance with our established policies and procedures.Admit and prepare identification records for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.Maintain a current listing of all residents, their level of care, and assigned room numbers. Provide copies of such listing to nursing service, administrative personnel, government agencies and personnel, etc., as necessary. Maintain an accurate record of available beds.Admit and transfer residents in accordance with established policies and procedures. Collect, assemble, and check admission papers. Forward to appropriate department.Obtain the resident/guardian's signature on all required permits, releases, authorizations, etc.Abstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companies, Medicare, etc.Explain to the resident, and/or guardian, room rates, billing procedures, visitors/guest privileges, restrictions, resident care procedures, etc., as appropriate.Maintain a resident waiting list in accordance with established policies and procedures.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and potentially hostile people within the facility.Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.
