TRANSPORTATION BILLING SPECIALIST

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Billing Specialist to join our team and support accurate invoicing, carrier payments, and customer billing operations.Position Summary:The Transportation Billing Specialist is responsible for processing freight invoices, auditing billing information, ensuring accurate customer invoicing, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient financial operations and supporting the overall success of the transportation team.Key Responsibilities:Review, verify, and process transportation invoices for accuracyPrepare and issue customer invoices based on freight rates, contracts, and load detailsAudit carrier bills, fuel surcharges, detention fees, accessorial charges, and other transportation-related expensesCollect and track lumper fees, detention charges, and other accessorial charges owed to EOS TruckingFollow up with customers and brokers regarding unpaid lumper fees, detention, and additional billing discrepanciesReconcile discrepancies between customer invoices, carrier invoices, and internal recordsWork closely with dispatch, operations, drivers, and customers to resolve billing issuesMaintain organized billing records and supporting documentationEnsure invoices are processed and submitted within required deadlinesAssist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions related to transportation billingMonitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices when neededGenerate billing reports and provide support during month-end closing activitiesMaintain compliance with company policies and industry regulationsQualifications:High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferredPrevious experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, billing, or accounting preferredStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentKnowledge of freight terminology, rates, lumper fees, detention charges, and invoicing procedures preferredReview and verify the quality of submitted paperwork for accuracy and completenessDigitize and organize billing documents through scanning and indexing processesPrevious experience in billing is highly preferredPrevious experience with AS400/TMW preferredBenefits:Competitive payHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offRetirement plan optionsOpportunities for growth and advancementSupportive team environment
