Position Title: Career and Technical Education Consultant Salary Range: Education Consultant, Grade 16, exempt, $66,290 - $83,700. This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience. The salary represented is pro-rated to 195-day salary. Job Description Summary: The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Consultant supports Region V school districts in strengthening CTE learning through work-based learning, high school coursework, industry-recognized credentials, and career and technical student organizations. The role partners with school leadership, educators, and community partners to implement research-based practices that enhance student career readiness and expands equitable access to relevant career pathways. Through consulting, coaching, training, and coordination, the consultant helps build sustainable systems connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences, including facilitation of dual credit online learning with higher education partners. An equity-centered approach guides efforts to remove barriers and ensure inclusive access for all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop content for training courses to fill gaps in established programs, and run complex or customized training courses to improve employee performance. Involves focusing on a specific functional area. Guide specific segments within coaching, implementing strategies to facilitate improvement, promoting open communication, and fostering a conducive growth environment. Develop, design, and improve the curriculum, select content, assess the program and reflect primarily in higher secondary or tertiary education. Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements. Mentor, coach, support, and provide advice and guidance for service users, in accordance with guidelines and standards, to support them through issues and times of challenge and vulnerability. Research, collate, and analyze information to identify key themes and deliver a broad range of standardized training and documentation, advice, or reports to support client projects and programs. Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Deliver evidence-based programs, facilitating group and individual sessions in accordance with a defined program, to support self-development and promote knowledge, skills, and resilience. Involves making adaptations within the defined program to meet the needs of participants. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Additional Job Description: Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education or related field OR a combination of postsecondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to four (4) years. Six (6) years of experience in a certified role in K12 Career and Technical Education; of which the total years of experience include: Experience providing support to other educators such as coaching, training, or participating in committee leadership. License: Current Career and Technical Education License Work-based learning license or willing to get one within the first 18 months of hire Valid driver's license This position is for 195 days per fiscal year. Location: Applicants should be located near or in the counties we serve (Region 5) and be able to commute to the office and throughout the region at least 7-9 days a month for meetings and support. On occasion may be expected to attend meetings or trainings at Sourcewell's headquarters in Staples, MN, advance notice would be given to team member.
