About the Role
MWH is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support the electrical scope of work on a critical water treatment plant construction project in Gresham, Oregon.
Position Summary
The Project Engineer – Electrical supports the planning, coordination, and execution of a defined electrical construction package on a water treatment plant (WTP) project. This role focuses on electrical power distribution, process electrical systems, instrumentation and controls coordination, and commissioning support critical to treatment plant operations.
This position is intended for professionals with 2–6 years of experience in electrical construction within water/wastewater, industrial, or process facility environments.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Project Coordination & Documentation
Manage package-specific electrical documentation including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, test reports, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
Coordinate with electrical engineers, process engineers, controls integrators, and inspectors to resolve design, constructability, and sequencing issues
Track approvals and ensure timely distribution of electrical documentation to field teams
Field & Electrical Construction Support
Support the Superintendent with daily coordination of electrical subcontractors and plant work areas
Assist with inspections, installation verification, and electrical testing activities
Participate in site walks, pre-task planning, and electrical work sequencing discussions
Support plant tie-ins, outages, and coordination with owner operations staff
Cost Control & Procurement
Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and budget control for electrical scopes
Support procurement of electrical equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and cabling
Track long-lead equipment and coordinate delivery, storage, and installation schedules
Assist with subcontractor change management, pricing reviews, and invoice processing
Required Experience & Knowledge
2-6 years of Project Engineer or Field Engineer experience
Experience supporting electrical scopes on water or wastewater facilities
Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines and control diagrams
