Requirement· Strong knowledge of OSHA, NC OSHA, and local safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and site‑specific safety requirements.· Experienced in conducting daily safety inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action implementation to maintain a safe and compliant jobsite.· Skilled in leading daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and on‑site training, effectively communicating safety expectations to all levels of personnel.· Proficient in maintaining accurate safety documentation, including logs, permits, inspection reports, incident investigations, and training records.· Proven ability to work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for all safety‑related matters.· OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certified, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent experience, with the ability to obtain CHST/ASP/CSP within required timelines.· Stable work history with strong tenure, demonstrating reliability, commitment, and sustained performance without frequent job changes.Position Type: ContractOn-siteRequired:Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field, or a minimum of five (5) years of EHS experience in construction safety, preferably on large-scale commercial projects required.OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.Must possess or be willing and able to obtain within 6 months a CHST, ASP, or CSP certification.Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.Preferred Skills:Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.Responsibilities: Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee and enforce safety protocols for a large, multi-year project. The SSHO will ensure full compliance with federal (OSHA), state (NC OSHA), and local safety regulations and standards.Ensure compliance with the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and all applicable safety policies.Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and operational practices.Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain compliance with safety standards.Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all site personnel.Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations; develop and document corrective and preventive action plans.Maintain complete and accurate safety documentation, including logs, permits, inspection reports, and training records.Coordinate with subcontractors to verify their safety programs and training meet project-specific requirements.Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all safety-related matters.Collaborate with project teams to identify hazards and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies.
