Software Engineering Manager
Overview
In this role you lead a software and firmware engineering team to deliver embedded networking solutions, guiding architecture, design, validation, and release across the product lifecycle. You collaborate with DSP, ASIC, hardware, and program management to tackle cross-disciplinary challenges and silicon bring-up. You’ll drive quality, performance, and schedule adherence while shaping engineering processes and mentoring staff. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced product environment with a strong impact on product quality and time-to-market.

ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of software and firmware engineers developing embedded solutions for communication productsOversee end-to-end software activities from architecture to release and sustaining supportCollaborate with DSP, ASIC, Hardware, Validation, Systems, and Program Management to resolve technical challengesLead software bring-up for new silicon, FPGA/emulation platforms, and hardware prototypesDrive root-cause analysis for complex system issues across software, firmware, DSP, hardware, and test infraOwn project planning, execution tracking, risk management, and schedule adherence within softwareEnsure deliverables meet quality, performance, reliability, and schedule goalsReview architecture, design, code quality, and test strategies for maintainability and scalabilityGuide requirements, design specs, implementation plans, and test documentationEstablish and improve engineering processes, methodologies, and quality practicesSupport customer escalations with technical investigations and corrective actionsConduct performance reviews, develop career paths, and foster accountability, innovation, and collaborationPromote effective communication across geographically distributed teams
Key requirementsEmbedded software and firmware development experience for communication, networking, semiconductor, or related productsStrong DSP-based SoC architectures and embedded systems knowledgeDSP firmware and signal-processing systems experienceProficiency in C/C++ in embedded environmentsExperience with RTOSExperience with multi-core processors, microcontrollers, and hardware/software integrationStrong debugging across software, firmware, DSP, SoC, and hardwareHands-on silicon bring-up, board bring-up, and system-level validationAbility to drive complex technical issues across organizationsProven leadership of engineering teams delivering on aggressive schedulesAbility to influence technical direction in a cross-functional settingStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred experience leading distributed teamsUnderstanding of Agile and modern CI/CD environmentsFamiliarity with Python, scripting, and automated test frameworksstrong leadership and people managementexcellent cross-functional collaborationclear communicationC/C++ in embedded environmentsRTOSDSP/SoC architectures
