Job Title: Quality Engineer (Electrical)Location: Louisiana Duration: Long termClient: Prolec GEJob Description:Requires a BS or MS in engineering. All the skills and abilities of Engineer L1. Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications. Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures. Work with suppliers to assure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports. Make technical decisions with moderate supervision. Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats. Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and analyze product performance and quality trendsSupport resolution of manufacturing issues and product non-conformancesLead structured root cause investigations (8D, 5 Why, etc.)Work closely with manufacturing, repair, engineering, and test teamsDevelop and maintain defect tracking and analysis toolsSupport tear-down evaluations and technical assessments of returned unitsDrive implementation and validation of corrective actionsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product reliabilityParticipate in daily production and quality reviews BasicQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field4+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or failure analysisPreferred Experience:Experience with transformers, voltage regulators, or similar electrical equipmentExposure to manufacturing or repair environmentsExperience supporting product investigations or performance analysisTechnical Knowledge (Desired):Understanding of transformer fundamentals (windings, insulation systems, magnetic circuits)Familiarity with electrical testing (TTR, insulation & winding resistance, dielectric tests) General knowledge of failure mechanisms in electrical equipmentExposure to oil-filled equipment or basic diagnostic concepts is a plusWhat we are looking for:Strong problem-solving mindsetHands-on approach and shop floor engagementAbility to work across teams and drive results Data-driven thinking and attention to detail
