Production Shift Manager

Position Summary:
The Production or Warehouse Manager will lead the team members on their shift or in their department to ensure they execute the activities to meet the goals and objectives of the site.
Essential Functions:
· Holds team members accountable to following all safety protocol and SOPs including use of PPE, compliance to forklift operation and certification, and completion of safety training. Partners with the HR team to investigate safety incidents and follows up with corrective action(s).
· Ensures team members understand the quality expectations of the customer and completes all necessary Food Safety and Quality training when applicable. Sets the expectation that all non-compliances shall be communicated with the respective leader for proper investigation and resolution.
· Knows the expectations of the customer regarding service and shares those objectives with the team members and holds them accountable to proper execution.
· Establishes hourly and daily output goals and collaborates with the team members to meet and exceed those goals. Partners with the team members to understand and remove barriers to success.
· Ensures the accuracy of payroll for each direct report and reviews daily.
· Utilizes the HUG program to complete 1 day, 7 day, and 30 day assessment for all new hires.
· Understands and follows all HR policies and procedures and holds team members accountable.
· Understands and executes site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensures employees comply with those SOPs and site rules and utilizes the Disciplinary Action process when necessary.
· Conducts 90 day and annual performance evaluations and submits recommendations for wage/salary increases to the site leader.
· Ensures 5S is followed and their respective area is audited at least monthly.
· Conducts 1:1 on with leads at least monthly.
· Collaborates with other support departments such as human resources, safety, quality, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
· Approves PTO requests prior to employee’s time off.
· Has knowledge of the emergency shut offs for water, compressed air, gas, and other utilities.
· Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
· Experience leading a team in a supply chain environment.
· Knowledge of operations and logistics management.
· Proven experience in repack, production and manufacturing management.
· Ability to lead, interact, and communicate respectively with team members.
· Ability to interpret data to set production goals.
· Experience in reporting on key production metrics
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Work Environment:
· The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
· The job requires lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking.
· This job requires working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
· This job may require working extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
· Some sites require compliance to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) for food safety.
· All sites require compliance to PPE’s (Personal Protective Equipment) for safety compliance.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
· Three years of supervisory experience required in a supply chain, logistics, or warehouse environment.
