Senior Software Engineer – Automated Test SystemsJoin a cross-functional engineering team developing custom automated test systems for leading Aerospace, Defense, and Government customers. This role combines software development, test engineering, and system-level design, with a strong focus on LabVIEW and TestStand. You’ll collaborate with customers, engineering teams, sales, suppliers, and technology partners to design, deploy, and support turnkey test solutions.!! This is a Contract roleDuration: 1-yearLocation: On-site in Austin, TXCompensation range: $90.00 to $105.00 per hour based on experience** U.S. citizenship required; must be able to work on ITAR projects and qualify for applicable DoD security clearances.What You’ll Do:Develop instrument drivers, automated test sequences, and test applications using LabVIEW and TestStand Design and implement system test plans, manage project milestones, participate in technical reviews, and verify test coverage against customer requirements.Collaborate with Systems Architects and Electrical Engineering teams to provide system-level design guidance and optimize testability.Work directly with customers, internal teams, alliance partners, and suppliers to design, deploy, document, and sustain custom test solutions.Provide software handoff and technical support to customer engineering teams, including required documentation and travel domestically or internationally as project needs require.What We’re Looking For:5+ years of recent experience developing test software with LabVIEW and TestStand; strong, current hands-on proficiency is essential.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another engineering discipline from an accredited institution.Experience developing automated test systems using PXI and equipment such as analog/digital I/O, DMMs, oscilloscopes, switching/signal routing, DAQ devices, power supplies, and RF test equipment.Knowledge of hardware communication interfaces including GPIB, USB, Ethernet, and serial, along with proficiency in LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#, Python, or similar high-level languages.Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of electrical engineering, electronics, and computer architectures, with experience interpreting or developing system electrical schematics.Experience with Windows and Linux cross-platform software development.LabVIEW certification.Experience developing in Python, C#, or other high-level programming languages.Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate across diverse teams, learn new technologies quickly, and provide direct technical support to customers.Additional Details:Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required based on project needs.Work Environment: Aerospace, Defense, and Government applications, including ITAR-controlled projects.We are actively speaking with qualified candidates for this essential role and would like to hear from you today!
