Job Summary:The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor is responsible for the comprehensive planning, delivery, and evaluation of student learning across the didactic classroom, clinical practicum, and skills laboratory environments. This faculty member ensures high-quality instruction that aligns with the program's philosophy, the college's mission, and all institutional policies and procedures.In addition to teaching responsibilities, the CNA Instructor will serve as the Program Director of the CNA Program for the State of Michigan, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining program approval status.The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, multicultural, and diverse educational environment, demonstrating strong communication skills, cultural humility, and a commitment to student success in healthcare education.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review and update course syllabus, course outlines, textbooksTeach CNA course and maintain instructional standards in compliance with the State of Michigan Nurse Aide Training Curriculum ModelSchedule clinical orientation and clinical hours with affiliate, in accordance with State of Michigan standardsServe as institutional CNA Director through the State of MichiganMaintain active MI-NATES account, and update student roster at completion of courseProvide documentation for certification testing of successful students in Headmaster's TMU Michigan System and support students in creating a MILogin account for test schedulingProvides instruction in a classroom, lab, and clinical settingFacilitates instruction using alternate delivery methods as neededUpdates Nursing Lab Coordinator with lab space and supply requirementsMaintains records in compliance with Michigan Licensing and Regulatory AffairsConduct course level assessment based on learner outcomes (as described in the BMCC assessment manual).Other duties may be requested within the scope and duties of the position and contract.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experience in the appropriate medical or allied health education, training, and experience.Experience in curriculum development and instructing students individually and in groups.Knowledge or experience in alternative teaching strategies such as group projects, hands-on learning, practical applications, computer assisted instruction, distance learning or team-teaching, and evaluation of students.Knowledge or experience in academic advising.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, college and departmental committee experience preferred.Knowledge or experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.Knowledge or experience in working with Native Americans, in an educational setting preferred.Must have at least 2 years of experience in teaching, supervising nurse aides, or have completed a course in teaching adults.Education and Experience:Must have an active, unrestricted Michigan RN license.Minimum of 2 years of RN level nursing experience within the past 5 years, including teaching in a healthcare field. At least 1 year (1600 hours) within the provision of a long-term care facility.Must have completed a course in teaching adults, or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.To Apply:This position will remain open until filled.
