Dietary Cook

Position Summary:Rossmoor Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Cook to join our team part-time. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and facility standards. This role plays a vital part in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and overall well-being.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary requirementsEnsure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety regulationsModify meals to accommodate special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, texture-modified)Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environmentMonitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as neededProperly store food and label items to ensure freshness and complianceCollaborate with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet resident needsAssist with meal service and portion control as requiredQualifications:Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service setting preferredKnowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets is a plusFood Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Strong attention to detail and food safety practicesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentReliable attendance and punctualityTeam-oriented with good communication skillsSchedule:Part Time positionMust be available to work weekends (Friday - Sunday)Pay: $22-$24 hourly
