Data Governance Lead (Energy & Utilities)Location: Remote or Hybrid (DC Metro Preferred)Level: Senior / Lead ConsultantRole SummaryPS2G is seeking a Data Governance Lead to support enterprise data strategy initiatives within the Energy and Utilities sector. This role will lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks that ensure data quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance across complex, highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting utilities, energy providers, or grid modernization programs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of enterprise Data Governance frameworks, policies, and standardsEstablish data ownership models, stewardship structures, and governance councilsDefine and implement data quality, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) strategiesAlign governance practices with regulatory requirements such as NERC, FERC, and state-level compliance standardsPartner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data alignment across operational systems including CIS, AMI, OMS, and ERP platformsSupport data cataloging, lineage tracking, and classification initiativesDevelop governance metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track performance and adoptionEnable data-driven decision making across grid operations, customer programs, and enterprise systemsRequired Qualifications8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data StrategyDirect experience supporting Energy, Utilities, or Power & Gas organizationsStrong knowledge of data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.)Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks in utilitiesFamiliarity with utility systems such as SCADA, AMI, GIS, OMS, or Billing/CISStrong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting grid modernization, DER, or smart utility initiativesCertifications such as CDMP, DAMA, or equivalentExperience working in cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure)
