Cloud Engineer100% remoteUS Citizenship is required per government contractMust be able to obtain Public Trust clearance (6-8 week process)$50/hr W2The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services to support enterprise applications and operations. This role ensures the scalability, reliability, and security of cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions.This role will work with cross-functional teams to support cloud-based applications and services, automate deployments, and ensure system reliability and performance. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, strong scripting skills, and a solid understanding of DevOps practices and containerization tools like Docker and KubernetesKey Responsibilities:Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure – 30%Build scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures using services from AWS, Azure, or GCP.Automate Infrastructure and Deployments (IaC) – 25%Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate environment setup.Monitor, Troubleshoot, and Optimize Systems – 20%Use monitoring tools to track system health, resolve performance issues, and continuously optimize cloud resources for cost and efficiency.Ensure Security and Compliance – 15%Apply cloud security best practices, manage IAM policies, and ensure systems comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.Support CI/CD and DevOps Practices – 10%Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, integrating automation to streamline code deployments and testing workflows.Nice to have skills:• Cloud Platform Expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) – 3+ yearsHands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing services on at least one major cloud platform.• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) – 2+ yearsProven ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and management using IaC tools.• Networking & Security in the Cloud – 3+ yearsSolid knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, encryption, and compliance best practices.• Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.) – 2+ yearsAbility to proactively monitor performance and quickly resolve issues in cloud environments.
