Job Location: Austin Dallas HoustonJob Category: Compliance Corrective Action Due DiligenceJob Type: Full TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Compliance team as a Staff Environmental Scientist supporting regulatory compliance services related to stormwater, spill prevention, and environmental permitting. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, developing and maintaining compliance documents, and providing technical guidance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field and in a consulting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver the professional consulting services offered by ESE Partners using ESE delivery systems and methodologies.Operate as one of the firm’s technical associates with respect to the disciplines related to Environmental Science and Engineering.Assist in the implementation of numerous compliance projects simultaneously with potentially widely varying environmental scopes of work.Conduct routine and compliance-based stormwater inspections at various sites in accordance with applicable permits and regulations.Prepare, update, and maintain Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for various client facilities.Support compliance with the Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for Industrial Stormwater, including sector applicability evaluations, benchmark monitoring, corrective actions, and annual reporting.Develop and maintain Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans in accordance with EPA requirements.Assist clients with preparing Notices of Intent, Notice of Change, renewals, and other Registration/Certification required reporting in STEERS for General Permits and other spill prevention programs.Support sampling events, documentation, and coordination with laboratories, as applicable.Maintain accurate inspection records, compliance documentation, and client deliverables.Be able to communicate compliance requirements and findings clearly and concisely to clients, regulators, and internal project teams.Author and/or review technical reports in accordance with the ASTM, U.S. EPA, TCEQ and RRC Guidelines.Manage and interpret laboratory analytical data.Consult with Arc GIS Team to develop Site Maps and other pertinent drawings needed for project deliverables.Provide additional environmental compliance support as needed, including audits, training, and related consulting services.Maintain an average utilization target of 90%.Perform other project duties, as assigned.Position RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or geology with internship experience in industrial setting or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or related field, with 1-3 years of experience in Environmental Stormwater and Compliance.Strong knowledge of Texas stormwater and spill prevention regulations.Working knowledge of the Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP).Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in technical writing and recordkeeping.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site assessments.Preferred SkillsProfessional certifications (e.g., CPESC, CESSWI, CHMM, or similar)Strong Microsoft Excel skillsWhy Join Us?Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on diverse and impactful environmental projects.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Professional development and growth opportunities.We are committed to responsibly moving our client’s business forward through environmental problem solving, creating wealth for stakeholders and improving our community’s quality of life.BonusesPaid Quarterly – based on personal and company performanceBenefitsHealth InsuranceDental and Vision InsuranceLong Term DisabilityLife InsuranceSubscription to Ramsey EveryDollarPremium 401 K with employee match up to 4% of gross120 Hours Personal Time Off8 Paid Holidays
