Emphasizing the concept of radical hospitality, this role engages campus partners to ensure that guests are greeted with a warmth, openness, and authenticity - and an overall experience - that consistently exceeds expectations. The Associate Director leads by example, greeting campus event participants with a smile, and assists the enrollment leadership team in creating a campus environment that prioritizes radically hospitable interactions with guests.The Associate Director's primary task is to create annual campus visit events, group visits, and individual visit experiences that capture the imagination of prospective students and their families, helping them see themselves as part of Concordia's dynamic learning environment. Based on a deep understanding of Concordia's mission, culture, programs, co-curricular and experiential learning opportunities, and other strategic advantages for students, this role develops campus visit programs designed to tell stories and facilitate experiences that highlight the Concordia difference. Informative, entertaining, interactive, dynamic campus visits will create memorable experiences that will increase prospective student participation, achieve superior levels of participant satisfaction, and will ultimately contribute to enrollment growth at Concordia College.Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director supervises the Campus Visit Team in initiatives related to visit program strategy, marketing and outreach, program design, and execution of group and individual visits, and acts as a liaison between the team and enrollment leadership. The position collaborates with campus recruitment partners in athletics, the fine arts, and numerous other areas. The position is responsible for designing mechanisms for continuous evaluation and improvement of all aspects of the campus visit experience including campus tours, training of student ambassadors, etc.Responsibilities for this position also include the training, support, and engagement of on- and off-campus community members including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members for involvement in campus visits and in the recruitment process. The Associate Director must be comfortable working with diverse communities and interact effectively with a wide variety of constituencies. The role will work with on- and off-campus partners to bring a wider variety of student groups to campus.While most campus visit programs occur during regular working hours, there are occasional times when the Associate Director will work beyond the standard 8am-5pm schedule. Campus visit and scholarship programs sometimes extend into the evening hours or occur on weekends in order to take advantage of prospective student availability and to maximize participation. The Associate Director will also occasionally assist with other related duties as assigned.Essential FunctionsStrategically design, implement, execute, direct, evaluate, and continuously improve all campus visit programs:Independently oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all campus visit experiences-including daily visits and large-scale programs such as preview days, scholarship events, and yield initiatives. Serve as the operations lead during visit events by directing staff, managing guest needs, and ensuring a high-quality experience for prospective students and families. Regularly communicate visit program initiatives and enrollment goals to campus partners, including facilities, dining, faculty, and staff, and collaborate across the institution to foster innovative solutions and a culture of exceptional hospitality.Actively identify, propose, and initiate refinements and generate new approaches to solving challenges with creative problem solving and strategic thinking - always with outstanding customer service in mind.Work collaboratively with the enrollment leadership team and other staff to develop effective and timely marketing campaigns, materials, and communications designed to promote the campus visit program, brand the college, and increase participation in visit events.Set the standard for exceptional customer service by insisting on outstanding experiences in all aspects of the campus visit.Provide timely and proactive communiccation to prospective students and families, commmunity stakeholders, enrolled students, and college constituents.Using administrative systems, generate reports regularly to be used in planning and analysis. This includes using data to influence future decisions and to keep team members informed about the outcomes.Manage budget for events and ensure effective use of funds allocated to these areas.Follow campus policy to hire, train, direct and evaluate performance of the Campus Visit Specialist. Oversee daily work. Plan and implement appropriate professional development. Clearly communicate expectations for execution of customer service standards with visitors and campus partners. Foster a sense of collaboration, innovation, teamwork, consistent improvement and high standards.Manage an engaged, informative, and dynamic, student ambassador program to ensure a positive and memorable tour experience for prospective students and families. This includes hiring, ongoing training, and schedule coordination.
