Softball Head Coach
Responsibilities and DutiesOrganizing, conducting, and supervising all aspects of the intercollegiate softball program to include the following: skill instruction; practices; student-athlete strength & conditioning; competition scheduling; competition preparation and competition day coaching; and participation within designated conference and NCAA meetingsProviding appropriate leadership, direction, and supervision relevant to the academic progress of student-athletes within the softball programAdhering to all university, conference, and NCAA rules and requirements relevant to the overall conduct of the intercollegiate softball programPreparing designated information relevant to budgets, equipment needs, travel advances/reconciliations, prospective student-athlete recruitment records, and other program areas; working with development staff to establish relationships with alumni and other friends of the program and to identify potential donors to the programOverseeing and assigning responsibilities to the Softball Assistant Coaches, supervising all aspects of their work performance, and conducting performance evaluations; actively recruiting and supervising volunteer coaches to work with various events not assigned to other coachesRepresenting the Department of Athletics and the field hockey program at specified university, department, media, and community functions and eventsThe work hours for this position include nights and weekends, as required by practice, competition, and recruiting.Travel is required.Qualifications and SkillsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeThree years of softball coaching experienceProven ability to train and recruit at the Division I collegiate levelAbility to accept and carry out assigned program and responsibilitiesAbility to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and the communityAbility to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulationsAbility to work collaboratively within the structure and framework of an athletics department and universityAbility to confidently and competently lead training sessions for the programA demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athleticallyA demonstrated commitment to building a positive team culturePreferred Qualifications:Master's DegreeExperience as a Division I student-athleteOrganization: Athletics DivisionPrimary Location: Main CampusJob Posting: May 13, 2026J-18808-Ljbffr
