Custodian / Janitor

Primary Purpose of this Job Position: To provide a clean, safe, healthy, welcoming building for the congregation and rentals. The Custodian must identify the cleaning and maintenance needs of the UUCS facilities. The Custodian must operate the duties of the job with flexibility as cleaning needs change. General Description of Position Duties: Clean all public areas of UUCS using eco-friendly cleaning supplies. The building is to be cleaned twice per week, with additional hours as needed to prepare for and clean up after special events. This is a religious organization with the employee working in a normal church environment. The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods. In this position, an employee will be exposed to dust and chemicals used to clean the facility. The employee must have the ability to lift 30 pounds up to shoulder height and lift/carry up to 50 pounds at waist height on a regular basis. This position requires the employee to carry trash outside in rainy weather and hours of darkness. The job required limited use of a ladder to keep building lights maintained. One year of experience in the care and cleaning of buildings and knowledge of green and septic safe cleaning products required. Background check is required.
