The Systems Integration Team is responsible for concepting, engineering, and delivering automated material handling systems within the automated warehouse industry.Job SummaryA Mechanical Engineer II plays a critical role in the design and execution of automated material handling systems. In this position, you will apply your engineering skills to design, analyze, and support complex systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for key project deliverables from concept through integration, including directly interfacing with external groups such as vendors, customers, and end users.Qualification, Education, And Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.2- 5 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering (preferably in material handling or industrial automation).Working knowledge of system integration technologies including conveyors, packaging equipment, or automated storage systemsProficient in AutoCAD; experience with 3D modelling tools a plusSolid understanding of core engineering concepts: Statics, Dynamics, GD&TFamiliar with equipment specification and vendor collaborationProficient with MS Office suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ProjectDemonstrated ability to manage components of projects independentlyEffective communicator with experience presenting ideas and solutionsComfortable working in a team environment with cross-discipline collaborationAbility to travel up to 30% to support project implementation and site activitiesEssential Job FunctionsAssist in creating mechanical layouts and drawings under the supervision of senior engineersDesign and engineer sub-systems within larger material handling projectsCreate and maintain mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical documentationDevelop material flow diagrams and support equipment selection and system functionality descriptionsParticipate in customer meetings and present design conceptsAssist with project planning, scheduling, and deliverable trackingBe able to identify and communicate risks and deviations from scheduled completion dates and budgeted hoursCoordinate with vendors for equipment selection, ordering, and documentationSupport site installations and commissioning activities with minimal supervisionAid in troubleshooting and technical problem-solvingContribute to proposal development by supporting estimation, technical write-ups, and layout creationSuggest and implement improvements to tools, standards, and processesMentor entry-level engineers and interns as neededMaintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and professionalism in all deliverablesContinuously grow technical knowledge through training and industry researchWorking ConditionsAlthough this is a full-time, Exempt position (40 hours per week), extended hours and evenings may be required based on client needs.Most tasks, projects, and communication with clients, team members, and directors will be completed using a telephone, microphone, computer, and video technology.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
