This role focuses on helping students develop a strong understanding of anatomical structures and physiological mechanisms through guided practice, concept clarification, and peer-supported learning.Schedule RequirementsAvailability between 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.10-20 hours per weekCombination of daytime and at least one evening shift preferredOpportunities for both in-person and online tutoringWhat You'll DoCreate a welcoming and encouraging space for students to thrive academically.Break down complex topics using clear, engaging teaching methods.Collaborate with faculty and team members to continuously improve the learning experience.Offer constructive feedback to help students overcome challenges and build confidence.Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in Anatomy & Physiology I & IIAssist students in understanding:Anatomical structures and terminologyStructure-function relationshipsPhysiological mechanisms (cause ? effect processes)Guide students in applying concepts to coursework, lab activities, and examsEncourage active learning through questioning, explanation, and guided practiceFacilitate tutoring sessions both in person and via Zoom or similar platformsUse technology tools (screen sharing, digital whiteboards, etc.) to support learningMaintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions as requiredContribute to a supportive, welcoming learning environmentWhat We're Looking ForEnthusiasm for biology-related courses with a strong understanding of the material.Great communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to explain concepts clearly and make learning approachable.Organized and reliable, with strong time management abilities.Previous tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.Commitment to creating a positive learning atmosphere.Minimum QualificationsCurrent student in good academic standingSuccessful completion of Anatomy & Physiology I (A&P II preferred)Demonstrated strong understanding of course contentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsComfortable interacting with peers in both in-person and virtual environmentsPreferred QualificationsFaculty recommendation or referral letterPrevious tutoring, mentoring, or leadership experienceCompletion of both A&P I & II with strong academic performanceComfort using technology for learning support (e.g., Zoom, digital whiteboards)When Applying, Be Sure to Include the Following:Faculty/Staff Referral Letters: If you've been referred by a faculty/staff member, include their letter as part of your additional items or references.Cover Letter: Brief, less than one page explanation of how you meet the qualifications for the role and how this position will help you grow your skills.Resume: Highlight your relevant coursework, experiences, and skills.This is a NON-Federal Work Study position.Students with a faculty referral letter are strongly encouraged to include it with their application.
