Job Description Community Life Assistant - SFCPosition SummaryThe Community Life Assistant supports the Director of Community Life in the planning, coordination, and execution of resident programs, events, and community initiatives. This position plays a visible, resident-facing role in fostering an engaging, inclusive, and vibrant campus culture.This is a 16 - 20 hours per week position. The candidate must be willing to work 3 weekdays and 1 weekend day each week, 4+ hour shifts. Flexible on when the shift starts and ends as long as it's between the hours of 9:00AM and 6:00PM.Essential ResponsibilitiesProgram & Event ManagementSupporting resident programs, cultural events, and social activities throughout the year.Coordinate event logistics including room reservations, setup/breakdown, hospitality, and day-of-event oversight.Coordinate weekly happy hour programming and musician scheduling.Assist in organizing signature events such as the annual Luau, Summer Ice Cream Social Series, Halloween Party, Veterans Day Program, and New Resident Coffee gatherings.Take event photographs and manage digital display updates and community monitor content.Track attendance and gather resident feedback to inform future programming.Resident Engagement & CommitteesAssist with onboarding and engagement of new residents through welcome programs and campus introductions.Coordinate volunteer schedules and communications for resident support groups.Transportation & LogisticsCoordinate transportation for resident outings, cultural programs, and special events.Arrange buses and transportation logistics for funerals and Celebrations of Life.Collaborate with Facilities, Dining, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth event execution.Administrative SupportMaintain organized program files, contracts, and vendor records.Support preparation of printed materials and signage for events.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, Hospitality, Recreation, Event Management, or related field preferred.2+ years of experience in event coordination, community programming, hospitality, or senior living.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience working with older adults preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
