Staff Accountant
Addison Group is partnering with a multibillion-dollar, publicly traded industry leader to identify a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with SEC reporting in a highly visible role. You’ll work closely with corporate accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, and IT to support accurate and timely external financial filings while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days in office)Key Responsibilities:Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including financial statements (10-Q, 10-K) and related disclosuresPrepare supporting schedules and maintain tie-out documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of filingsPartner cross-functionally with internal teams and external auditors to coordinate timely reportingAssist with earnings releases, board materials, and investor presentationsParticipate in the XBRL tagging process to ensure proper financial data presentationContribute to process improvements and support SOX compliance initiativesPerform technical accounting research and assist with ad hoc projects as neededQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent)2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry, with exposure to SEC reportingStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX complianceExcellent analytical, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Why This Role:High-visibility position with exposure to senior leadership Opportunity to develop SEC reporting expertise at a large public company Collaborative, team-oriented environment Strong focus on process improvement and career growth Compensation & Benefits:$80K–$90K base salary + 10% bonusComprehensive benefits package, including medical (Blue Cross Blue Shield), life, and disability insuranceHybrid work schedule
