POSITION: Teacher IIREPORTS TO: Director of the Children's CenterJOB PURPOSE: Assists in planning and implements a developmentally appropriate program that supports the philosophy, curriculum and assessment framework of the Children's Center, the PA Department of Education, and Department of Human Services Regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESImplements daily lesson plans and daily classroom routines, as needed, in accordance with the center's curriculum and programming that stimulates all domains of each child's development in their careResponsible for the supervision and daily class functions of a group of children, creating a warm, loving and nurturing environment encouraging them to learn, develop and advanceEnsures constant focus on the well-being, health and safety of childrenCleans and sanitizes equipment and toys on a daily basis in accordance with hygiene procedures and participates in the maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, playgrounds and common use areasHelps to maintain an attractive, fun, clean, interactive, and orderly classroom that encourages children to create, play, learn and exploreConducts daily health checks on each childFollows policies and procedures regarding medical and dental emergencies, short-term exclusion of children, and the handling and storing of medicationCultivates positive relationships with children, families, parents, staff, state licensing authorities, volunteers and other stakeholdersContributes to the effective operation of the overall Oppenheim Family Children's CenterAttends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functionsParticipates in the Children's Center fundraising efforts and eventsComplies with all rules, regulations, procedures and protocols of the Children's Center and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, emergency procedures and care of childrenMaintains overall professional personal appearanceOther duties as requiredADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisorExperience, Competencies, and EducationAssociate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldExperience working with young children in a group settingBackground check clearances including Act 34, Act 114, Act 151 and National Sex Offender (NSOR), names and address of three professional references, two written references, and physical examination with a TB test is required.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust possess or immediately obtain certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPRMust be able to supervise children by sight and sound at all timesMust be physically able to participate with children in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities and be able to lift children and move classroom equipmentMust complete 24 hours professional development per yearMust be able to work a flexible scheduleTO APPLY: Please send resume, cover letter and names, addresses & phone numbers of three professional references to: Human Resources *Keystone College* One College Green * La Plume, PA 18440-1099 * email: humanresources@keystone.edu
