Android Developer

We are seeking a talented developer to help us build new features for our well-established Android app. The role involves using modern Kotlin practices and maintaining a multi-module Gradle architecture. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in modern Android architecture patterns and design principles, coupled with substantial experience in Android UI development to maintain and evolve existing features. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working closely with designers, product managers, QAs, backend, and data teams. Effective communication across time zones is essential, and prior experience in remote collaboration is highly valued. Key Responsibilities: ● Implement new features using best practices. ● Work closely with cross-functional teams and mediate between backend teams and the Android team. ● Design scalable and maintainable solutions. ● Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards. ● Identify and resolve complex issues, including hard-to-reproduce crashes and bugs, ensuring robust and reliable application performance. ● Research and implement the latest Android technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve app quality. ● Contribute to testing and quality assurance efforts, including dev testing and unit testing. Job Qualifications: ● 4+ years of experience in Android app development. ● Sound knowledge of Android development principles and best practices. ● Strong expertise in Kotlin and the Android View system (XML layouts, ViewBinding/DataBinding). ● Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, including structured concurrency. ● Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with a distributed team. ● Excellent problem-solving skills. Bonus Points: ● Prior experience working with remotely distributed teams. ● Experience with GraphQL (Apollo Kotlin). ● Experience with Dagger dependency injection. ● Experience working with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code).
