Mechanical Engineer

K&M is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join its Technical Services team. K&M invites qualified candidates who are interested in working on diverse and challenging international assignments (including transaction advisory, due diligence, owner’s engineer, and other engagements) for private, government, and multilateral clients.Key Responsibilities for this position:The Mechanical Engineer’s duties will include:Conceptual design and cost estimates for power plants (conventional and renewable), LNG/CNG systems, and other energy facilitiesDesign document reviewDrafting and/or review of technical specifications for power plants, LNG/CNG systems, and other energy facilitiesProviding necessary home office technical support to site engineersConducting technical due diligence reviews and writing due diligence reportsParticipating in the preparation of marketing documents, including expressions of interest, proposals, and othersBuilding and managing relationships with existing or prospective clientsAs a Mechanical Engineer at K&M, the successful candidate would work with a multidisciplinary team (including finance experts, economists, lawyers, and others) across continents, traveling internationally as needed. This position offers opportunities to gain hands-on project experience by working closely with seasoned engineers, applying and expanding technical knowledge and skills, and contributing to a dynamic, fast-growing team.Candidate Profile:The ideal candidates would have:Strong general understanding of different power generation technologies, including thermal and renewable generationDemonstrated ability to work independently to manage projects with minimal supervisionStrong writing skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality, professional written materials in English that are grammatically correct and display close attention to detailStrong problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility and willingness to travel overseas to developing countries for short-term assignments. Travel may be up to 25%.Interest in growing professionally in a long-term career, while maintaining a sustainable work-life balanceQualifications:The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 5-10 years of experience working in power generation design, development, operation, and/or engineering consultingExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsFluency in Spanish or French and/or international experience is a plus.Only applicants with valid U.S. work authorization will be considered; visa sponsorship is notavailable
