Position Overview
Part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in the Counseling department at Yuba Community College District. The position is filled as needed through ongoing recruitment and the pool of applicants remains active for two years.

Job Description – Basic Function
Under the direction of the Dean of Student Services, provide general counseling services in support of the College’s recruitment and retention efforts. Responsibilities include personal, career and educational counseling to students; participation in orientation/counseling sessions, classroom presentations, workshops, assessment interpretation, outreach activities, evening assignments, and liaison duties with academic departments. Assignments involve curriculum development, development and assessment of student learning outcomes, professional activities, committee work, and utilizing intervention strategies with academically challenged students. Additionally, work with electronic processes such as Curricunet, Tracdat, Degree‑Audit, and similar systems.
Required Duties
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling.
Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter area of Counseling, or the equivalent (equivalency must be verified).
Note: a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to title 5, section 53410.1.

Range/Step Class I – VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).
Salary Range
2024‑2027 YC AFT Contract (no fringe benefits for part‑time positions less than .60 FTE).
Benefits
Part‑time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
