Job Description We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Welder to join our Welding Department. In this role, you will assemble and weld metal parts using electric and gas welding equipment while maintaining quality standards and following all company safety procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm to 10pm Mon-Fri with Overtime availablePay Rate: Starting at $20, experienced welders pay will be determined based on experienceKey ResponsibilitiesWeld metal parts using electric or gas welding equipmentFill cavities and correct imperfections in metal partsUse grinders and other tools to smooth rough edges and burrsInspect finished parts for defects and ensure quality standards are metRead and interpret blueprints and measurements accuratelyCut scrap metal or dismantle assemblies using a plasma torchSafely lift, move, and position materials and partsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all company safety rules, policies, and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum of 6 months of welding experience preferredWelding certification preferredManufacturing experience preferredAbility to read blueprints and tape measurements to 1/16"Knowledge of welding techniques, welding gases, cutting tips, and sheet metalUnderstanding of tooling, maintenance, and safe lifting practicesAbility to distinguish between materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, and brassBasic math and measurement conversion skills requiredFrequent bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and reachingFrequent lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.; occasional lifting over 75 lbs.Ability to carry materials up to 20 feetWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceOpportunity to work in a modern manufacturing environmentCareer growth and skill development opportunities.Marathon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
