IT Network Engineer

This employee will be a member of the IT Networking team, which is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable and diverse network. This network supports the designing, manufacturing and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites as well as human space flight. The position will be directly involved with supporting the campus network using our reliable design standards. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work in a ticketing system, excel at multi-tasking, resolve issues to prevent failures and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.ResponsibilitiesProcure, configure and install network hardware including switches, access points, UPS and PDUsTroubleshoot and resolve network-related issuesPlan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders to perform software updates, hardware refreshes and general network maintenance Perform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and implement solutionsConfigure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) and other security featuresPerform job walks with customers, vendors and contractors to gather network requirements and create implementation plans accordinglyBuild and maintain our IDF rooms across our campus in accordance to our network standardsMonitor network health using in-house and 3rd party toolsContinuously create and update network documentation Manage our network hardware inventory Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 3+ years of professional network engineering experience; OR 5+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degreePreferred Skills And Experience Understanding of the OSI model and network standardsHands on experience with the following:Cisco Catalyst and Arista data center class switchesCisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologiesWave Division Multiplexing and Fiber OpticsDNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDPSwitch port security featuresNetwork monitoring toolsDocumentation and procedural installationLinux/Windows system administrationIndustry standard certifications such as CCNA or CCNP Additional RequirementsAbility to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral and VandenbergMust be willing to work overtime and occasional weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelinesAbility to lift heavy objects up to 35 lbs. unassisted Compensation And BenefitsPay Range:Level 3: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
