Inventory Clerk & Material Mover
Overview: The Inventory Clerk / Material Mover is the physical and transactional execution layer of the inventory function at Novia Corporation. This is a hands-on role responsible for the daily movement, organization, receiving, put-away, staging, and counting of inventory across the facility, and, over time, the SAP Business One (SAP B1) transactional entries that keep the system accurate.This role reports administratively to the Finance Director and takes day-to-day technical direction from the Inventory Lead on inventory-related tasks. The position is integral to keeping production moving, jobs shipping on time, and inventory records accurate. It offers a defined growth path from physical execution into full SAP B1 transactional fluency, with expanding responsibility as system knowledge builds.This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity. The right candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, and will earn permanent placement with a clear progression in scope and skill as system knowledge builds.Essential Duties include, but not limited to:Move materials throughout the facility in response to production demand, job staging needs, and stockroom replenishmentPull, box, and stage components for inter-location transfer between Salem and Manchester, a recurring shipment lane, not an occasional eventMove WIP (Work-in-Process) materials to designated staging areas based on production schedulesOperate forklift and other material handling equipment as required (training provided if needed)Respond to floor requests for materials and components in real timeSupport daily receiving of inbound material, every purchase order touches this roleVerify received goods against purchase orders and put away inventory in correct locations once the PO is processedOrganize and label materials correctly, location accuracy and labeling discipline are foundational responsibilities from day oneValidate physical put-away against system records to reflect real-time inventory movementsMaintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse and stockroom, including space utilization and accessibilityExecute cycle counts on a daily schedule designed and directed by the Inventory LeadPerform bin replenishment and kanban checks on non-VMI itemsConduct quality assurance checks on kits, components, and finished goods to confirm accuracy and completenessTag reserve stock and maintain inventory location accuracySupport the bi-annual physical inventory count process (June and December)Begin with basic SAP Business One transactional entries under direction of the Inventory LeadProgress to independent execution of routine SAP entries, receipts, transfers, location changes, count adjustmentsFlag discrepancies and exceptions to the Inventory Lead for decision and resolutionDevelop full transactional fluency in SAP B1 over time, a marketable, transferable skill setOther duties as assigned in the best interest of the businessGrowth & Development Path:This role is structured around a phased progression. The intent is not just to fill a position, it is to develop a long-term contributor whose scope and capability expand as system knowledge builds.Phase 1 (Day 1 onward): Physical material movement, receiving support, put-away, organization and labeling, inter-location shipment prep, real-time response to floor needsPhase 2 (System Knowledge Building): Cycle count execution from the Inventory Leads program design, bin replenishment and kanban checks on non-VMI items, basic SAP B1 transactional entries under direction, independent put-away decisions for standard itemsPhase 3 (Full Operational Partnership): Independent ownership of the physical and transactional layer, daily bin checks and floor replenishment without prompting, routine SAP entries completed accurately and on time, exception flagging for resolutionEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior warehouse, receiving, or material handling experience preferredForklift experience preferred (training and certification provided if needed)Crane experience is a plus, but not requiredPrior exposure to ERP or inventory management software preferred (SAP, NetSuite, or similar)Manufacturing or production environment background preferredBasic computer literacy, comfortable learning new software systemsOrganized, detail-oriented, and reliable, strong work ethic and attendancePhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and move materials throughout an 8-hour shiftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyComfortable performing physically active work on a warehouse and production floorAbility to bend, reach, climb, and operate material handling equipment as requiredOccasional travel between Salem and Manchester locations as neededOther Information:Hourly - Full Time (M-F; 8am-5pm)Weekly pay on ThursdaysAmazing benefits include:Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401K with company matchingLife InsurancePaid Time OffTuition Reimbursement
