Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist to manage payroll operations while supporting general accounting and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who has a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and enjoys contributing to financial reporting in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience independently processing payroll and working knowledge of accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:As the Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist, your main responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll, timekeeping compliance, and assisting the Finance team with month-end close duties. Payroll (Primary Responsibility)• Process bi-weekly payroll for 70+ employees using ADP • Ensure accurate payroll processing including taxes, deductions, benefits, garnishments, commissions, and bonuses • Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and deductions • Process off-cycle payroll runs and adjustments as needed • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations • Respond to employee payroll inquiries • Maintain documentation for GL accruals, insurance audits, and payroll reporting • Process employee expense reimbursements through Ramp and ADP Accounting Support· Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes· Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations· Responsible for monthly financial statement preparation and variance analysis· Assist with invoice reviews and coordination with the AP team· Partner with buying and PO team as needed to assist with financial reporting· Assist Controller with ad-hoc projects that include but are not limited to business licenses and filings, sales tax analysis, and audits Qualifications• 5+ years payroll processing experience (required) • 1+ years accounting experience supporting month-end close • Experience with ADP payroll systems strongly preferred • Strong understanding of CA payroll compliance and wage laws • Working knowledge of accounting principles, debits/credits, and accruals • Strong Excel and organizational skills • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential informationThis position is currently 4 days in our West Hollywood office and 1 day remote.
