This role is responsible for sourcing high-quality refurbished technology, building strong vendor partnerships, and delivering profitable, customer-centric offerings while maintaining Micro Center’s trusted standards. The ideal candidate brings strong merchant instincts, a data-driven mindset, and experience navigating secondary markets to create value across the full product lifecycle. Relocation assistance will be provided.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Source, evaluate, and procure refurbished, open-box, and recertified products across key technology categoriesDevelop and manage partnerships with OEMs, authorized refurbishers, liquidators, and service providers to ensure consistent supply and quality standardsDefine grading standards, pricing strategies, and margin targets for refurbished merchandise to maximize profitability while delivering strong customer valueNegotiate and manage vendor-funded marketing, merchandising and VIR programsManage vendor relationshipsRecommend, present, and direct the development and implementation of category strategies and tactical plansCoordinate with the Web Development team and Marketing team to maximize merchandising opportunitiesCollaborate with QA, Services, Operations, and Inventory teams to ensure refurbished product quality, warranty alignment, and proper lifecycle managementAnalyze return streams, repair yields, and secondary market trends to identify new refurbished buying opportunitiesMonitor competitive refurbished pricing and marketplace dynamics to maintain Micro Center’s value leadershipAccurately forecast to ensure proper stocking levels for top selling productsCollaborate and motivate other teams to achieve category objectives:Distribution and TransportationRetail stores (Sales and Operations)Web DevelopmentMarketingFinancePlanning and AllocationEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:B.S Degree in Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or Business preferredA minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience buying refurbished, open-box, returns, or secondary-market consumer electronicsWorking knowledge of refurbishment processes, product grading, warranty programs, and reverse logisticsStrong negotiation skills neededA proven track record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendorsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills with experience modeling yield, recovery rates, and profitability for refurbished inventoryAbility to balance speed-to-market with quality, brand standards, and customer trustMust be detail-orientedMust be a team playerKnowledge of purchasing and forecasting systems required as well as proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and OutlookMICRO CENTER OFFERS EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS:Flexible Scheduled & Excellent PayMedical, Dental and Vision Benefits Coverage for Regular Full-Time AssociatesEmployee Discount that includes a Friends & Family Discount ProgramTuition Reimbursement & Education DiscountsPaid Time Off for Regular Associates401K Plan with Company MatchEsteemed Vendor & Company Job TrainingCareer Advancement OpportunitiesOUR GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES:At Micro Center, we empower our employees to set their sights high and blaze their own trails.
