Job: Robotic Process Automation Engineer 5Duration: 6+ MonthsLocation: Spring TX Job Description:OS Imaging operations, currently performed through a combination of manual processes, in-house tooling, and individual expertise. The goal is to:• Reduce dependency on single individuals• Improve operational reliability and scalability• Increase automation and reduce manual effort• Ensure continuity and reliability with production systems• Maintain production-level quality for recovery-critical workflows2. Background and ContextSure Recover Imaging supports production recovery and factory workflows, including catalog creation, image ingestion, validation, signing, and publishing.Current operations exhibit the following characteristics:• Highly bursty workload, aligned with factory milestones (PD, RC, RTM)• Heavy reliance on manual verification and triage• Partial automation with limited diagnostics and error handling• Critical infrastructure hosted on local on prem hardware• High volume of ODM/SEPM-originated noise, with low signal-to-noise ratio3.1 Core Operational Activities (Must-Have)The outsourced resource must take ownership of day-to-day imaging operations, including:1. Catalog and Image Processingo Ingest recovery images from upstream sourceso Validate image completeness and metadatao Manage catalog generation for multiple platforms per cycleo Handle large batch operations (e.g., 20+ platforms per run)2. Publishing & Release Readinesso Prepare images and manifests for cloud publishingo Perform final readiness checks before production exposureo Coordinate release timing with factory schedules3. Manual Verification & Double-Checkingo Perform production-grade validation due to recovery-critical natureo Cross-check automation outputs when upstream data is incomplete or incorrect3.2 Triage & Support Activities (Must-Have)1. ODM / SEPM Triageo Review and triage incoming tickets, alerts, and issueso Identify false positives vs real issues (noting that ~1% are actionable)o Educate ODMs on recurring issues due to attrition and misconfiguration2. Burst Handlingo Scale effort during peak factory windows (PD, RC, RTM)o Operate at near full-time capacity during peak burstso Support reduced activity periods between bursts4. Automation & Improvement Responsibilities (High Priority)The outsourced role is not purely operational. A key success criterion is measurable reduction in manual load.4.1 Automation EnhancementsThe contractor is expected to:1. Improve Existing Toolso Enhance internal catalog management toolingo Introduce meaningful error codes and structured error outputso Reduce reliance on manual log inspection2. Pipeline Enablemento Design and implement pipeline-based workflows for:§ Manifest signing§ Catalog publishingo Reduce reliance on manual security group usage for signing3. Error Observabilityo Improve detection, reporting, and traceability of failureso Enable faster root cause identification across large batch jobs4.2 Infrastructure Stabilization1. On-Prem Infrastructure Improvementso Migrate imaging workload away from single-desk dependencyo Propose secure, shared, on-prem storage/compute modelo Ensure multi-user accessibility with appropriate security controls2. Non-Cloud Constraint Awarenesso Solutions must account for:§ High data transfer volumes§ Cost sensitivity of cloud DTO transfers§ Performance constraints during peak ingestion5. Technical Program management• Publishing and release management of components to Pulsar, Softpaqs and Cloud• Co-ordination, triaging and streamlining the process as needed6. Skills & Experience Requirements6.1 Mandatory Skills• Strong experience with large-scale batch automation• Familiarity with image publishing pipelines• Experience operating production recovery / factory-critical systems• Comfort with manual triage under time pressure• Ability to work with imperfect upstream data• Strong practical and skillful knowledge on Pow
