Shift Lead /Back Of House Lead Supervisor Dog Daycare and Boarding Dog Tired James Island POSITION SUMMARY: The Daycare and Boarding Back of House Supervisor/Lead have a dual role with leadership of people and must have a genuine kindness, love, and natural respect for animals. Duties will include safety training, compliance of operations and cleaning, managing pet care workers, public interaction with customers, and social interaction play time with animals. Some front desk experience will be required, along with overseeing the staff and day to day operations. Education & Experience: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Prior experience: Minimum 1 year prior work related experience and management required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties. Monitor Pet Techs performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to facility’s policies and procedures on cleaning and safety are met. Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and work on resolving problems. Train or instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be provided. Evaluate employees’ job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action. Inspect pet boarding areas, condos, executive suites, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance. Answer employee inquiries pertaining to Dog Tired Properties policies and services. Attend company management meetings to exchange ideas for improvements, discussion of further training of self or employees, any required changes in shift scheduling, and upcoming promotional events. Observe behavior of dogs to ensure good play skills and calming signals are being used. Maintain even-tempered and friendly dog playground atmosphere. Assist General Manager in day to day office tasks including reaching sales goals, assisting with marketing strategies & hiring employees. *THIS JOB IS EXTREMELY BUSY, AND FAST PACED. *Must Be EXTREMELY Organized. *Must be comfortable speaking to clients on the phone daily and in person. You will be the face of our business checking people in and out plus administrative duties. *MUST BE ABLE to WORK SOME WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS as needed. * Excellent computer skills a must. This position will allow you to engage with our clients and their friendly dogs in a professional environment. We provide on the job training and DVD training for 16 weeks. We are the only doggie daycare and boarding company in Charleston with this extensive training program formulated by THE DOG GURUS. This is a job that can be made into a career with proper training and guidance with our program. The pay range is hourly plus performance bonus.
