Job Summary
We are seeking a college student or recent graduate for an internship opportunity in the Maintenance Department for Summer 2026. This role will entail working on new implementations of a data historian with Excel and browser extensions. You will work alongside industry professionals and learn how to capture and display operations data that enables them to be successful in their duties and provide insight into plant operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Candidate will participate in equipment uptime, downtime, and availability tracking.
Candidate will develop data historian screens, Excel templates, and dashboards for employees, managers, and directors' use.
Will be implementing Excel data historian plugins and programming functionality with VBA/Excel Macros.
Will train employees and managers on use of the new screens and Excel functions.
Final report will be a deliverable demonstrating the new screens, dashboards, and templates to managers and directors.
Education & Experience
Education Level Required: Bachelor’s (Rising Junior; completed 2 years by start)
Majors: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
Experience with Excel VBA/Macro (demonstrated experience writing Macros or VBA script in Excel)
Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.
Skills & Other Requirements
Competent written and verbal communication.
Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
Adaptable and eager to learn.
Attention to detail and time management.
Internship Duration: 10–14 weeks.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This role will be based 100% on-site in Newark, DE. This is not a remote role.
Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
Walking/working in manufacturing area and in office areas.
Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to wear steel-toe shoes and wear safety glasses or prescription glasses with side shields.
