Submersible Pump Technician for Residential/House Pumps
American Pump & Drilling is a growing local company looking for a motivated and dependable Submersible Pump Technician to join our team. American Pump & Drilling serves customers throughout Eastern Idaho, Western Wyoming, and Southern Montana with residential, agricultural, municipal, and commercial water systems. This position will primarily focus on residential and house pump systems and will be based out of our Ucon, Idaho location.We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys solving problems, works safely, and wants to be part of a hardworking team that helps keep water flowing for our communities.Position OverviewThe Submersible Pump Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and servicing residential well pump systems and related equipment. This role involves hands-on field work, operating service equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, and providing professional customer service while working independently and alongside team members.Essential Job Functions & ResponsibilitiesDrive and operate pump service rigs and related equipmentTroubleshoot residential and submersible pump systemsInstall, remove, and repair submersible pumps, motors, pipe, wire, and pressure systemsDiagnose electrical and mechanical issues related to water systemsWire and troubleshoot pump motors, control boxes, pressure switches, and related componentsPerform service calls and emergency repairs as neededMaintain accurate job documentation and service recordsConduct routine inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipmentCommunicate professionally with customers and team membersFollow company safety procedures and jobsite protocolsWork overtime when necessary to meet customer and operational demandsDesired Qualifications & Skills2+ years of experience working with residential or submersible pump systems preferredExperience operating a pump rig or similar equipment preferredKnowledge of residential well systems, pressure tanks, controls, and pump assembliesElectrical troubleshooting and wiring experience preferredMechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor safelyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently with limited supervisionValid driver’s license requiredCDL beneficial but not requiredMSHA certifications are a plusWillingness to learn and receive on-the-job trainingBenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experiencePaid Time Off after 90 days80% employer-paid health insurance for employeesVoluntary dental and vision insurance optionsOpportunities for advancement and continued trainingWeekly pay every FridayTeam-oriented work environment with long-term career opportunitiesWhy Join American Pump & Drilling?American Pump & Drilling has been serving the region for decades with a reputation for quality work, strong relationships, and dependable service.
