English 2 Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated English 2 Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a love for literature while helping students develop essential communication, analytical, and writing skills. The focus will be on challenging 10th-grade students with diverse, world literature, advancing their command of grammar, and preparing them for college-level reading and writing. Responsiblities include: Curriculum Planning: Develop and execute engaging lesson plans based on English 2 curriculum standards, focusing on world literature, thematic units, and writing proficiency. Instruction: Deliver lessons on literature analysis, writing techniques, and grammar, tailored to diverse student levels. Assessment: Create, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, and essays to measure student progress. Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and encouraging learning environment conducive to student participation. Student Support: Identify, support, and mentor students who need extra assistance or special accommodations. Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic growth. Collaboration: Work with the English department, counselors, and staff to improve student outcomes and coordinate instruction. Professionalism: Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
