Job Title: Medical Device Test Engineer ( Interoperability Testing)Location: Round Lake, IL 60073, USA(Onsite )Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMWork Type: Fully OnsiteDuration: 6 month Contract with possible extension Pay Rate: $40–$45/hrAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Contract Test Engineer to support interoperability testing for medical device systems in a regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience executing interoperability test cases, validating healthcare data exchange workflows, and identifying integration-related defects. This role focuses on ensuring reliable communication between medical devices, systems, and integration platforms using healthcare interoperability standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Execution & SupportExecute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platformsValidate device-to-system and system-to-system data exchange workflows for accuracy, completeness, and reliabilityRecord test results, capture logs, and document defects with detailed reproducibility stepsSupport regression testing activities and verification cyclesInteroperability ValidationPerform interoperability testing aligned with healthcare standards including HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profilesValidate message structures, data mapping, and end-to-end transaction workflowsVerify system behavior under normal and exception scenarios such as malformed messages and dropped connectionsEnsure data integrity and conformance to integration requirementsDefect Tracking & AnalysisIdentify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability and system integrationProvide detailed logs and supporting evidence for root cause analysisRe-test resolved issues and confirm successful defect remediationCollaborate with development and integration teams to troubleshoot issuesTest Environment & Data ManagementConfigure and utilize simulators, test tools, and mock systems for interoperability testingAssist in maintaining test environments and connectivity configurationsSupport test data preparation and environment readiness activitiesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate and traceable test execution records within ALM/test management systemsProvide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and blockersEnsure documentation supports compliance and audit readiness requirementsRequired QualificationsExperience in interoperability or integration testing within healthcare or medical device environmentsHands-on knowledge of HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE interoperability standardsStrong understanding of defect tracking, test execution, and regression testing processesExperience working with test management or ALM toolsAbility to analyze logs, troubleshoot integration issues, and document findings clearlyStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working in regulated environments such as medical devices or healthcare systemsFamiliarity with interoperability simulators and healthcare integration platformsExposure to audit and compliance documentation practices
