Made Possible.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly accomplished legal executive to serve as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel. This role is a key member of the Company's senior legal leadership team and serves as a strategic partner to the General Counsel and executive leadership.Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel will lead and advise on complex, high-impact commercial and strategic matters across the enterprise. The role requires exceptional legal judgment, business acumen, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while balancing risk and growth objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a senior advisor to the General Counsel and executive leadership on critical legal, commercial, and risk mattersLead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex, high-value commercial and corporate initiativesAssess and optimize legal workflows to support the various domestic and international businesses, including an evaluation of people, process and systemsProvide enterprise-wide legal guidance that aligns with business strategy and risk toleranceAct on behalf of the General Counsel as needed in key initiatives, discussions, and decision-making forumsPartner cross-functionally with senior leaders across Sales, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Sustainability, and other functionsAnticipate legal and regulatory developments and proactively position the business to respondHelp shape and advance legal strategy, policies, governance frameworks, and best practicesMentor and develop members of the Legal team and contribute to overall functional excellenceOversee and manage outside counsel to ensure effective and efficient legal supportQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership15+ years of legal experience, including substantial experience with a top-tier law firm and 10+ years in-houseSignificant experience handling complex commercial transactions and strategic matters as part of a global manufacturing organizationConsiderable experience negotiating opposite Fortune 1000 companies (i.e. vendors, customers, etc.)Meaningful experience as part of a global organization that values operating and compliance excellenceDemonstrated an ability to provide counsel in regulated industriesSubstantial experience with corporate matters unique to U.S. publicly-listed companies such as public filings, capital market transactions, and enterprise risk management.Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior legal leader within a sophisticated organizationStrong executive presence and ability to influence at the highest levels of the organizationExceptional business judgment and ability to deliver practical, solutions-oriented adviceExperience in a highly matrixed environment preferredFluency in languages in addition to English valuedLeadership ProfileEnterprise mindset with the ability to connect legal strategy to business outcomesTrusted advisor who builds credibility quickly with senior stakeholdersOperates independently while remaining closely aligned with the General CounselSkilled at navigating ambiguity and leading through influenceBalances risk management with a pragmatic, business-oriented approachPay Range: $240,100.00 - $320,200.00Graphic Packaging is an equal opportunity employer and abides by all applicable federal, state provincial and local laws with respect to the recruitment and hiring process.
