The Security Analyst I role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the various information systems within AVI-SPL. This role is tasked with providing technical expertise in all areas of network, system, and application security. This position works closely with the various teams within the IT department to ensure that systems and networks are always designed, developed, deployed and managed with an emphasis on strong, effective security and risk management controlsThis role supports West Coast business hours. Candidates must be located in the Pacific Time Zone or be willing to work Pacific Time hours. Candidates must be located in the Pacific Time Zone or be willing to work Pacific Time hours.Day-To-Day ResponsibilitiesProactively monitor the environment to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks before they occurReview, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environmentManage the relationship with security teams (3rd party vendors) to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilitiesFixing detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standardInstalling security measures and operating software (e.g., firewalls and data encryption programs) to protect systems and information infrastructureMonitor online security-related resources for new and emerging cyber threatsResearch and provide recommendations to senior management on security enhancements to implementManage all itrisk inquiries and perform first pass on all RFP’s submitted for all opportunitiesWhat We’re Looking ForSkills and Abilities:Experience in information security or a related fieldPreferred experience in utilizing Microsoft 365 admin products (Defender, Intune, Purview)Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS conceptsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and writtenBe a proficient problem-solver that is able to work autonomouslyAbility to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously and display effective prioritization while multitaskingDemonstrate time management skills with attention to detailEducation And/or ExperienceMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalentTwo or Four-years’ experience in the IT/Security environmentOne or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HEREMedical benefits, including vision and dentalPaid holidays and PTOEnjoyable and dynamic company cultureTraining and professional development opportunitiesMore About UsAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
