Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse - $2,449 per week

Certification DetailsACLSBLSCalifornia RN LicenseCPI CertificationTNCC or ATCNNIHSSPALSJob DetailsAssesses patients on admission within specified time frames considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.Reassesses each patient's health needs whenever warranted and at least every shift using nursing processes.Establishes and updates plan of care based on data from all appropriate sources and reassessments.Administers oral, topical, and parenteral medications utilizing the 7 rights.Assesses and documents effectiveness and untoward effects of medications and treatments.Performs treatments and procedures following nursing practice, hospital policy, sterile technique, standard precautions, and patient privacy.Documents response to care, pain management, discharge planning needs, education, and progress towards goals.Educates patient/family based on assessed needs using 'Krames' where appropriate.Interprets or analyzes diagnostic data and reports, intervening appropriately.Communicates changes in patients' clinical condition promptly to physicians and healthcare team members.Uses SBAR communication for all handoffs.Considers patient rights including confidentiality, safety, and participation in plan of care.Evaluates and documents patient care and effectiveness of patient teaching.Participates in multidisciplinary care planning.Demonstrates knowledge of restraint application criteria and management per policy.Follows National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies including use of two patient identifiers.Understands Disaster Plan and own role; knows how to activate Rapid Response Team.Completes orientation to Life Safety Standards including Code Blue, Code Pink, Haz Mat Spills, Code Red, Oxygen shut off valve.Follows hospital infection control policies and blood transfusion policy and documentation.Understands Chain of Command and accesses it appropriately.Follows guidelines for Core Measures and Vaccine protocol.Practices hand hygiene before and after each patient contact.Possesses skills and experience to perform advanced patient assessment and prioritize needs.Experienced in caring for patients across age continuum from birth to geriatric.Possesses skills, competencies, and education to respond to minor to life-threatening illness or injury.Completes ED skills checklist prior to first scheduled shift.Understands patient flow through ED including Rapid Medicine Evaluation (RME).Performs nursing activities related to admission and discharge.Uses chain of command within the ED.Understands teaching/physician residency model for the ED.Has skill and knowledge to safely administer high-risk medications following hospital/ED policy.Job RequirementsMinimum of 4 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) and Level 1 Trauma.2 years of prior travel experience required.Experience in a facility with at least 40 beds.Epic electronic health record experience is highly preferred.Some exposure to pediatric patients.Schedule InformationReturn to Office (RTO) 8 day maximum.Unit Specific InformationEmergency Department (ED) and Level 1 Trauma unit.Completion of ED skills checklist prior to first scheduled shift required.Knowledge of Rapid Medicine Evaluation (RME) process in ED.Experience with admission and discharge nursing activities in ED.Familiarity with teaching/physician residency model in ED.Additional DetailsTravel candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility.
