Monitors, Supervises, and Coordinates the overall function and performance of the Metrology Inspectors and Dimensional Inspectors. The Metrology Supervisor oversees the group to ensure that the appropriate training of personnel, measuring performance of work done by Inspector, and efficient and effective measurement methods are applied to all inspections within the department. The Metrology Supervisor works closely with both internal and external customers. This position reports directly to the Metrology Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Train, problem solve and set up programs for various metrology equipment, along with organizing the equipment workload and priorities.
Maintain an Inspection Schedule for all work going through the department.
Help expedite inspections when required.
Maintain Dimensional and Metrology Inspector's schedule to ensure timely completion of activities.
Complete resource planning daily for Metrology and Dimensional Inspectors.
Develop, implement, and train on inspection methods and techniques.
Coordinate's training plans for Metrology Inspectors and Dimensional Inspectors on equipment, processes, and procedures.
Create, implement, and train on processes and procedures with coordinated efforts of all members of the metrology lab.
Creates purchase orders for necessary Metrology equipment
Perform D.O.E Response dimension inspection, First Article Inspections (FAI) (Modified and Full), as well as Capabilities Studies and Gage R&R's. Review the results with appropriate personnel.
Manage the internal Metrology portion of RMA/RGA process.
Calibration management including scheduling, and performing of Metrology Equipment, Gage, Scale and Shadow Box Calibration.
Competencies
College Degree or 4+ years Metrology experience
GD&T Certified
Leadership Certificate or successful completion of a Leadership course
Statistical Certificate or Successful completion of a Statistical course.
ISO 17025 Certificate or successful completion of an ISO 17025 course.
Greenbelt (Lean Six Sigma)
Certified Internal Auditor
