Title: CFD / Aero Simulation EngineerLocation: Novi, MIDuration: 1 Year Contract with Possibility of ExtensionPosition Overview: We are seeking a skilled CFD / Aero Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Novi, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced aerodynamic and fluid flow simulations to optimize vehicle performance, safety, and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to apply your expertise in computational fluid dynamics and contribute to cutting-edge vehicle design projects.Key Responsibilities:Conduct aerodynamic analysis using CFD tools to assess airflow around vehicle bodies and components. Perform thermal simulations to evaluate heat transfer and cooling efficiency in engine compartments and other critical areas. Collaborate with wind tunnel testing teams to validate and correlate CFD models with experimental data. Optimize vehicle designs by analyzing simulation results and recommending modifications to improve aerodynamic performance and fuel efficiency. Identify and troubleshoot potential issues related to fluid dynamics and thermal management in vehicle designs. Generate detailed reports and visualizations of simulation findings to communicate insights and recommendations to engineering and design teams. Collaborate with structural, powertrain, and manufacturing teams to ensure the integration of CFD analyses into the overall vehicle development process. Stay current with advancements in CFD software, tools, and industry trends to enhance analysis methodologies. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for vehicle performance and safety. Mentor junior engineers and interns in CFD methodologies and best practices. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in CFD and aero simulations, preferably in the automotive industry. Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar). Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and thermal analysis principles. Experience with wind tunnel testing and data validation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
