We focus on a variety of signal and transport solutions supporting wireless and wire-line high quality video, telemetry, data, and other integrated services. SAS is looking for an experienced engineering employee who can support customer projects involving multiple disciplines including IT networking, servers, video, audio, wireless, fiber, cyber-security and more. Work will be at SAS facilities and at customer sites. Job will include but not be limited to system integration, configuration, provisioning, testing, maintenance, training, and documentation. Project deliverables will include manuals, inventory, warranty performance reports, cable labels, test plans/reports, interconnect drawings, system architecture drawings, rack elevation drawings, Bill of Materials, recommended spares, and more. Cyber-security deliverables will include NIST 800-171 archival data, DISA STIG Checklists, Vulnerability scans and other cyber-security related system deliverables. Individual will be expected to interface with other engineering team members to develop the required documentation, schedules, and test plans. Customer site visits will be required to support technology demonstrations, system installation, acceptance testing, updating security artifacts, and customer support efforts during and after system installations. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Basic familiarity with some of the different technologies used by SAS is a plus and ability to learn new technologies and processes is absolutely required. Prospective candidates will be expected to provide status information to the Engineering staff for support of scheduling, generate cybersecurity documentation, assist in integrating systems in the SAS facility (MN office) on Monday through Friday, installation of the systems at customer locations, customer acceptance testing, and post installation customer on-site support. Employee will be the technical support contact for our customers and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction.This position is primarily in-office and requires the individual to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST at the SAS headquarters in Lakeville, Minnesota, except when traveling for company business or performing approved off-site work. Travel is required based on project needs. Typical travel may occur up to two weeks per month during active project installations, with approximately three to four major projects per year. Travel duration may vary depending on project scope and customer requirements.Due to federal contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must be able to successfully complete a background check. This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. SAS will assist in the clearance process if required. Successfully manages the demands of several different projects at one time.Ability to work towards and consistently meet deadlinesPossess a valid U.S. Passport.Education/Experience Mid-level experience in the systems integration-related field.4-year college degree in related technical curriculum.Proficient with Excel spreadsheet applications as well as Microsoft Office suite.Experience with Ethernet switches, OS configuration (Windows, Server, Linux, etc.) and security software.Experience in a Microsoft AD environment. Experience with networking protocols and services including DNS and DHCP.Experience with network design and proficiency in TCP/IP, routing protocols, and security best practice.Experience with VMware vSphere core components including VMware ESXi, vCenter Server, vSphere Client and vMotionCCNA and/or other network administration certifications a plus.Ability to learn new technologies and hardware. Experience/Familiarity with any of the following a plus:Video and/or Audio Encoders, Video and/or Audio Decoders, VOD, IP Cameras, or other network video and audio systemsNetworking Equipment – Microwave Radios, Switches, Routers, Network Attached Storage, etc.Network Management Toolsets – HP Openview, WhatsUp Gold, Castlerock SNMPc, or other network management systems.Ability to obtain and maintain active security clearance.Working ConditionsGeneral office setting—no hazardous chemicals or manufacturing equipment/production lines/machinery.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Installations often require handling large and awkward system components. Day to day work will be completed at SAS’ Minnesota headquarters. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach during system installation activities.Ability to travel and work at customer locations when required.Travel (2+ weeks a month as required) – Travel is required for installation efforts, Pre-Sales site surveys and technical demonstrations. Most customers are DOD installations and can be located in remote locations. Core in office hours are 9am-5pm CST; Monday-Friday. Work outside of these hours is required when necessary to meet customer period of performance requirements and for customer support efforts.Project schedules, customer installation timelines, and travel requirements may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours. Employees are expected to maintain flexibility to meet customer project timelines and company operational needs.
