Embedded Software Engineer

Due to a growth in the business, they are now looking for a talented Software Engineer, to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, coding, and integration of software that interfaces and controls their advanced VME and compact PCI-embedded computer products.
Your expertise in developing software that interacts with hardware devices will be essential to ensure seamless functionality and performance.
Responsibilities:
Design, code, and integrate software for the interface and control of our VME and compact PCI-embedded computer products.
Develop code that efficiently interfaces with hardware devices, such as memory-mapped registers, PCI/PCI Express, I2C, etc.
Support software applications/operating systems installation and provide technical assistance as needed.
Participate in the testing process, including test review, analysis, witnessing, and certification of software.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of microprocessors, interface peripherals, and computer bus protocols.
Leverage design experience to implement VxWorks Board Support Packages (BSPs) and Built-in Test (BIT) software (desired).
Independently lead special Research & Development projects or investigations within the Electronic Engineering discipline.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
5-10 years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
Proficiency in C language and experience with Real-time software development.
Familiarity with formal Software Engineering Development processes.
Expertise in Operating Systems: VxWorks and Integrity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex software challenges.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience with DO-178
Prior experience in designing and developing VxWorks Board Support Packages (BSPs) and Built-in Test (BIT) software.
Knowledge of other programming languages and software development tools.
Familiarity with industry-standard hardware communication protocols and interfaces.
Proven track record of successfully leading and executing Research & Development projects.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
