With Puthouse, users can explore a risk-managed approach to investing in the market.Role Description The Founding Engineer, Broker Integrations will build and maintain robust technical connections between Puthouse and multiple brokerage platforms, ensuring reliable trade execution and data flows. This full-time, on-site role in San Francisco, CA involves designing integration architectures, implementing APIs, monitoring systems performance, and troubleshooting production issues that affect trading operations. The role includes collaborating with product, compliance, and data teams to translate trading and regulatory requirements into scalable engineering solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities also cover writing high-quality code, documenting integration standards, improving observability and resilience, and contributing to foundational engineering practices as an early technical leader at the company.QualificationsStrong analytical skills for evaluating integration performance, debugging complex issues, and optimizing trading workflows.Hands-on experience in troubleshooting distributed systems, production incidents, and data consistency problems across services.Proficiency in software development, including modern programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or similar), testing practices, and version control.Expertise in integration engineering, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT), and third-party platform connectivity.Background in systems engineering, covering system design, reliability, monitoring, and scalable infrastructure in cloud environments.Experience integrating with brokerage or financial APIs (e.g., trading platforms, market data providers) is highly beneficial.Comfort working in a founding or early-stage startup environment, with the ability to own projects end-to-end and make architectural decisions.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Understanding of options trading concepts (covered calls, cash-secured puts) and interest in fintech or capital markets.Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.CompensationThe expected base salary range for this role is $180,000–$310,000, depending on experience, skills, and level of responsibility. This role may also include equity and benefits.
