Production Supervisor I 2nd Shift MaconJob Summary This position is responsible for executing the daily production plans and managing the day to day production activities for an assigned group of production workers to deliver high quality products to our customers on a timely basis. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining and meeting goals related to performance and efficiency, while meeting quality and service standards. Effective communication with direct reports, colleagues, and management is essential.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirementsPlans and schedules workflow for each process and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead timesPlans sequence of manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. Confers with Section Manager to determine status of assigned projectsExpedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditionsPrepares production reportsPrepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipmentPrepares requisition to obtain materials, tools, and equipmentWorks with Nova and Microsoft Office on a regular basis with particular focus on Excel spreadsheetsResponsible for identifying and developing talent in order to optimize human resources to insure maximum production capabilities and encourage employee advancementMaintains a safe work environment and maintaining 5S standardsAny other duties that may be assigned by managementSupervision and Scope of PositionDirectly supervises from 5 to 30 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problemsQualifications and RequirementsEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred with three to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience working with teams in production and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationMATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Must have the ability to read a tape measure. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have the ability to create basic Excel spreadsheets and formulasREASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
