U18 Professional Development Phase (PDP) Coach

Play your part in maintaining the club’s rich tradition of producing 1st Team players from our Academy. As the PDP U18 Coach, you will support the Lead Coach in the daily coaching creation, delivery and monitoring of the U18 PDP Squad. Ensuring the highest level of coaching delivery, you will help maximise the development of every player in the squad.To support the daily training delivery for the U18 Scholar programme in line with the Academy Coaching CurriculumEnsure each players Individual Development Plan (IDP) meets their needs and is regularly evaluated to ensure their development is maximised Act as a mentor to the young players, ensuring their emotional needs are supportedSupport regular player reviews through critical performance evaluation against Academy Playing and Coaching Philosophies Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure each U18 players holistic skil-set is enhancedTo ensure all Football Intelligence Platform (Kit Man Labs) logs and communications are kept up to dateCommunicate with U21 Coaching Staff to ensure strong information pathways exist for players moving between U18 and U21 squadsSupport the tactical assessment of U18 games in conjunction with other key staffTo represent the Academy PDP department in wider academy staff meetings Ensure evidence-based and research-backed decision making is at the forefront of daily discussions and practicesMaintain the safety and welfare of all players (Fit and injured)Form relationships with external bodies and organisations and have the curiosity to remain at the forefront of innovation , professional regulations and drive positive change in working practicesTake responsibility for personal CPD to ensure qualifications remain active and retain records for this Ensure high levels of professionalism and player support at all timesPerson SpecificationEssential DesirableUEFA A License (Must be completed!)üA minimum of 3 years working experience within a professional football club academy with players 15+ years oldüFA Youth AwardüExperienced in the use of Microsoft ProductsüCompetent user of software such as Hudl, Kitman Labs, TeamworksüConfident presenter and communicator with groupsüInquisitive with a passion to prioritise player developmentüExperienced in the design, implementation and monitoring of coaching content that stimulates players and supports their long-term developmentüEmergency First Aid In Football (EFAiF) qualificationüValid and Enhanced FA DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Check- Club to undertake thisüFlexibility to work evening and Saturday gamesüValid FA Safeguarding CertificateüRight to Work in the UKüAdvanced Youth Award (Professional Phase)üEx professional footballerüStrong knowledge of the EPPP frameworkü
