Accounting Assistant

Family First Health is seeking a Accounting Assistant for a part-time temporary position at our George Street office. This entry level position will be approximately 24 hours/week.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesMatches daily cash payments/remittances to incoming pharmacy payments from payersRecords transactions and journal entries in accounting software systems. Completes electronic invoice process, including entering data into accounting software, and generating invoices. Reconciles bank statements.Adheres to Fiscal policies and procedures while completing general accounting tasks. Utilizes computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information.Maintains confidentiality while working with sensitive/private data.Performs all other duties as assigned.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of basic accounting/financial informationKnowledge of computer software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, others)Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functionsKnowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures necessary to perform essential job functionsExcellent customer service skills Skill in operating office equipment Ability to critically think which means the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe; understand logical connections between ideas; and identify, construct, and evaluate argumentsAbility to set positive examples for team members through exceptional work performance including adherence to company policies and processes.Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary teamAbility to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information Ability to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds.Ability to work efficiently and accurately with strong attention to detailAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systemsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, volunteers, and the publicAbility to be organized, proactive in follow-up and follow-through, and to juggle multiple competing tasksAbility to adhere to all Family First Health’s policies, processes, and procedures, especially, Code of Conduct, Workplace Conduct, and the Remote/Telework Policy if indicated eligible to work remotely or telework.Ability to articulate and advocate Family First Health’s mission and valuesPHYSICAL DEMANDSMental/Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position such as: Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range.Corporate Compliance ResponsibilitiesUnderstands and adheres to Family First Health compliance standards as they appear in Family First Health Policies and Employee Handbook.
