Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Assistant Operations Manager for their Operations Department. The right candidate will assist the Operations Manager or the Division Vice President of Operations in the management of business operations to ensure the achievement of the division's business objectives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the implementation of business plans and goals to include all operational requirements including labor, production, business development and expansion for division profitability and growthEnsure the policies regarding financial management, service strategy and direction, quality and general operating methods are enforcedReview operations and performance of the different aspects of the division. Works with the Operations Manager or Division Vice President of Operations to take corrective action as deemed necessary to achieve goalsFocus daily on processes and procedures to maximize resources to meet division goals and objectivesProvide input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging productsEstablish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and completion datesProvide guidance to the development of a production process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs and subcontractor requirementsReview production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational and production problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delaysDetermine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectivesPromote an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on quality and customer satisfactionConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 2 or more employees in the Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; five to seven years related experience, home building experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a vehicle and valid driver's licenseEstimating/budgeting spreadsheet skills requiredAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailPreferred QualificationsExperience in a leadership role involving operations, sales and productionWorking knowledge in JD EdwardsBasic accounting or finance knowledgeCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
